About the Author

 

  Robert Echols is a spiritual author, thought leader, and passionate advocate for animals and all of God’s creation. As the author of For Our Friends the Animals: Cultivating a Reverence for Life, Echols blends Christian spirituality, biblical wisdom, and the moral philosophy of Dr. Albert Schweitzer to offer a powerful message: we are called to protect and uplift all living beings.

A cancer survivor and U.S. Army veteran, Robert's life journey has been guided by service—to his country, his faith, and now, to the voiceless creatures that share our planet. He is the founder and former president of the For Our Friends the Animals Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to financially supporting animal shelters, rescues, and sanctuaries. Under his leadership, the foundation funded the construction of animal shelters in Florida, putting faith into action and making his life his argument, as Schweitzer once wrote.

Robert frequently shares his message of compassion on LinkedIn, in podcasts, and as a guest speaker throughout the Mobile Bay, Alabama area. With academic credentials from Phillips Exeter Academy, New York University, and Emory University (J.D./M.B.A.), and a past career as an ethics officer and Army JAG attorney, Robert’s voice is both seasoned and deeply principled.

His current writing project is a four-volume spiritual treatise titled For Our Friends the Animals, empowering others to embrace a universal love rooted in Christ’s teachings and a reverence for all life.

Amy Buchanan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in Northern California providing Christian Counseling to women. Through consulting, Amy is able to provide non-therapeutic care, strategy, and insights that have proven successful with women, couples, and other medical professionals.

After graduating in 2006 with a Masters in Social Work, Amy began working with older youth and supporting families through Child Protective Services. She has worked with inmates in CDCR institutions in Northern California. From there, she was able to serve her community as a clinical social worker within her local hospital. There, Amy was able to assist the overwhelmed caretakers who had limited resources. Today she loves providing support to women and couples that need to reconcile themselves back to God, to themselves, and to their families.

Amy’s life message, that she feels is needed for women at this time, is LOVE YOURSELF as much as you love others! This important Kingdom principal can be overlooked within church culture and even in the culture of family. As women, we tend to nurture and think of others first, but there must be a balance—a guilt- and shame-free balance.

Having raised five children, two are children of love through her marriage of 29 years. Much personal experience has been gained to offer support to couples with blended families. Tracy Ripley is a wife, mother, and stepmother to four children. Her youngest was diagnosed with congenital heart disease (CHD) in 2013. Tracy is a child of God and attributes her strong faith to the trials she and her family have endured throughout her youngest son’s battle with CHD. Her testimony of faith has helped shed light on the world of CHD, spreading awareness and providing hope to other families faced with a different path for their infant child than they may have ever dreamed.

After dedicating 27 years to a career in accounting and finance, Tracy made the courageous decision to pursue a childhood dream of becoming a published author. She and Rob, her loving husband of 24 years, live in Northeast Ohio. Tracy finds fulfillment in actively engaging with her community, contributing to the Christian Ed group at her church, and cheering at her children’s sporting events.
