Elara's Silence Book Blitz #rabtbooktours

Dark Fantasy, Vampire Fantasy

Date Published: February 14, 2026

When a woman condemned to silence awakens centuries too early, the world that buried her begins to bleed.

Elara’s Silence is a dark gothic fantasy steeped in prophecy, memory, and dangerous desire. In a realm ruled by vampire courts, wolf-blooded alphas, and shadowed orders who rewrite history in blood, Elara Winterbourne was meant to remain sealed—forgotten, contained, erased from the future she threatened to change.

But something has shifted.

As ancient glyphs stir and old loyalties fracture, Elara’s return ignites a chain of events that reaches from ruined villages to decadent courts and forbidden crypts. Wolves sense a mate marked by fate. Vampires fear a power that can unmake their lineage. Secret societies whisper that the Gospel itself—a living force of prophecy and memory—has chosen her as its vessel.

Hunted, desired, and divided between what she was and what she is becoming, Elara must navigate a world where love can be a weapon, prophecy is a battlefield, and every choice writes a future in blood.

Perfect for readers who love:

* Dark gothic fantasy

* Morally complex characters

* Lush, atmospheric worldbuilding

* Vampire and werewolf politics

* Stories where prophecy and passion collide

Elara’s Silence is the first entry in a sweeping dark fantasy saga about power, legacy, and the cost of awakening what the world tried to bury.

The Gospel no longer whispers. It remembers. And it is writing her name.

Readers of gothic fantasy, vampire fiction, dark romance tension, and multi-book fantasy series will find a living mythos designed to expand across generations and realms.

EXCERPT

Excerpt from Cat's Claws

"So there I am, standing in the middle of the street, screaming at him en Espanol. I'm calling him things our abuela would turn over in her grave to hear me say. And then she'd wash my mouth out with soap."

"Lucia, when are you going to learn?" Gabriella unlocked the door to Gatos' cold storage unit. "You stay away from men like him. They're trouble."

Lucia, her sister, had the fire of a Roman candle and a temper to match. She jammed her hands on her hips in indignation. "Like you have room to talk," she shot back.

"I do. Do you see me getting tangled up with any troublemakers like him?" She yanked open the door, and cold air escaped with a whoosh. "Uh-uh. Oh, that's good." Gabriella closed her eyes and swayed in bliss. It was a gorgeous day outside in the shabby outskirts of San Miguel, the sky pure blue and the horizon clear for miles. Which meant it was hot enough to suit the devil himself, especially back in the warehouse. She let herself enjoy the cool air coming from the cold storage unit for a moment, then got back to business. She nudged the handcart. "Come on, you take one crate and I'll take the other."

"We shouldn't roll out a keg?"

"If you think you can manhandle a keg in heat like this, dolly or no dolly, you're welcome to try. Grab a case for now. Tony can get the rest later." Gabriella sized up the hefty crate stamped with the Moctezuma Brewery logo. Nothing tasted as good or as rich as their cervesa. Moctezuma was why locals bothered traveling to her tiny, out-of-the-way bar. If the brew master hadn't been a friend of her brother Tony, no way she'd have gotten her mitts on any of their goods. "Come on, Lucia, put your back into it."

Lucia pouted briefly before bending and lifting the crate. Tendons stood out in her neck from the effort as she wrestled a heavy crate onto the dolly. "We need some strong young stud for this."

"And there you go again, thinking about men," Gabriella chided. "I'm not saying I wouldn't like to have a strong young thing around, especially if he's hot, eh? I'm saying we can get by fine without one. You seem to think that's a mortal sin, which is why I'm listening to you pitch a fit in the street." She tempered the sting of her words with the fondness of her tone.

Gabriella shut the door to the cold storage unit and clicked the padlock back in place before taking the handle of the dolly. Oof. She had to admit, the crates were terribly heavy. Together they headed back to the main room of Gatos, the tiny tumbledown bar that had been their sole legacy from their mother.

Not exactly a rich and abundant inheritance. Ah, well, Mama had tried.

Lucia was still stuck back on Gabriella's opinions. "You're telling me if a man like Roger came on to you, you'd say no? He looked so pretty." She swung around to walk backwards. "Those cornflower blue eyes and his soft golden hair. Like a prince out of a fairytale." Her pleading turned wicked. "And good in bed? He was a devil when it came to loving me."

"And how many other women at the same time?" Gabriella bumped open the swinging kitchen door. "Would I say no to a man like Roger? Hell, no, I wouldn't. But..."

Lucia rolled her eyes.

"But," Gabriella went on, not letting Lucia's scorn stop her, "I'd say yes long enough to enjoy his body. If he's as good as you say, I'd have fun with him for a few days then send him packing. No harm, no foul, and no broken heart that needs someone to sweep up the pieces."

Lucia scoffed. "You wouldn't know how to let your hair down if someone gave you a hands-on demonstration."

Gabriella's pride was stung. "Says you!"

"You're right, says I. You want to make a bet on this? Friday night's tip jar says you don't have the guts to take the next handsome guy who walks into Gatos for a test run."

Ay, Lucia had her there. Gabriella could never back down from a challenge. "I'm listening. What are the terms?"

Lucia stretched her muscles out before unlocking the cooler. "So we have a deal?"

"Not yet." Gabriella pulled the dolly close enough to the cooler to unload it. "Let me hear the details before I say yes or no."

"Like you would," Lucia smirked. "All right, here's the deal. When we open tonight, you and I man the bar. When the first hot guy walks in, one I decide is enough of a handful for even you, I point him out and that's when the game begins. You come on to him, you do whatever you have to do, and if he's safe you get him into bed."

"I'm not a slut," Gabriella objected, all the while hoisting crates and holding them for Lucia to unpack and stow in the cooler. "And how am I supposed to know if he's 'safe'?" She dusted off her hands after the last bottle was stashed away. "You have to give me more than that to go on. I'm supposed to proposition a customer? That'll give me a great reputation."

Lucia shrugged smugly. "So you're saying no? You're backing down already?"

Be careful what you wish for

All Peg wants is a break, a bit of adventure, a relief from her mundane existence in the bucolic but boring Yorkshire hamlet of Kirkby Malzeard. When dashing, sophisticated journalist Lionel Hayes saunters into the pub where she's tending bar, Peg suspects that he was just the sort of man to fulfill her fantasies of escape.

The seductive Lionel, however, is not what he seems. Before she knows it, Peg is a hostage, roped and gagged, speeding away from the scene of a daring crime. Lionel is armed and dangerous, but somehow Peg still wants him regardless of the consequences.

Note: This book was originally published in 2015 by Totally Bound. This second edition has been substantially revised and has a new ending.

Excerpt

Peg sighed and wiped the rag across the bar for the hundredth time. It was a quiet night at the King’s Arms. Most of the village was off at the town pitch cheering the match against Hazelton Grange. They’d come in later, quarrelsome and thirsty, and then she’d have plenty to do, but right now, the pub was empty.

She put her favourite Madonna CD on the player and turned to polish the rows of glasses yet again. Henry was adamant; she had to look busy. She couldn’t read, or watch the telly. Even when there were no customers to serve, the barmaid had to be ready and available. He checked up on her from time to time, so she didn’t dare disobey, though tonight he was probably watching football like everyone else.

Last night I dreamed of San Pedro…” Peg loved this song, the Latin rhythm and the descriptions of a tropical paradise. How she dreamed of getting away herself, to some place beautiful and exotic, full of white sands, turquoise waters and bronzed men with smouldering dark eyes. With its stone church and medieval market square, Kirkby Malzeard was a lovely village, a picturesque historic jewel set among the rolling emerald fields of North Yorkshire. Ultimately however, it was boring.

She had grown up here. She knew every soul in town, every family drama, every scandal –not that a village this size had many scandals, of course. As the barmaid in the town’s only pub, she was up on the latest news: who was pregnant, who was ill, who was planning to leave for greener pastures in the city, or abroad.

If only she could escape, just for a few weeks, even a few days… She had managed to get away, once. She’d gone to university in London, where she’d studied commercial art and dreamed of a career in advertising. The accident ended all that. She’d rushed back to Kirkby Malzeard for the funeral, and to take care of her sister Jen.

It had been a rough three years, but surely things would get better soon. Jen was fifteen now. It wouldn’t be long before she was ready for college herself. Then perhaps Peg would be free to follow her muse again.

Never Stop Learning

My bio says that I’ve been writing all my life, and that’s pretty much true. I was penning stories and poems when I was in early elementary school. By high school, I’d branched out to novels and plays. Though I’ve also done drawing and painting, sculpture and dance, words have always been my preferred instrument for creation. And to be honest, I grew up believing that I had significant writing talent.

The more I write, though, the more I realize how much I still have to learn.

Total-E-Bound, an English indie publisher focused on erotic romance, brought out the first edition of Getaway Girl way back in 2008. This was only my third or fourth tale written specifically for a romance audience. At that time, I knew almost nothing about the genre and its conventions. (Until I signed with TEB, I’d considered myself an author of erotica.) I spent quite a bit of time reading the work of my fellow TEB authors, trying to grasp the essence of this new category of fiction and to translate that into my own stories. My editors also did not hesitate to point out areas where common aspects of erotica just wouldn’t work for romance readers.

By 2008 I’d concluded that in every romance: 1) there had to be a sense of inevitability to the connection between the hero and heroine, an attraction that might seem to make no sense but which could not be denied; 2) the couple had to at least discuss commitment; 3) the sex (this was erotic romance after all) had to be more than just casual – there should be a sense of fitting or rightness, a connection that transcended the physical.

I tried to implement these conclusions in writing of Getaway Girl. The story was accepted and published, but was never particularly popular. I went on to write a lot more romance, getting better at it over time.

Last year I reclaimed the rights to the story so that I could self-publish it, and a few months ago I set myself the task of re-editing the piece in preparation. I really hadn’t looked at it for more than a decade.

I was appalled by how clumsy and stereotyped it seemed.

Inconsistencies in character and in plot were only part of the problem. There were also long passages of purple prose, most especially in the sex scenes. I posted the tale in my critique group and discovered there were also plentiful anachronisms and inaccuracies related to its historical period (contemporary) and British setting. (The story was originally targeted for an anthology entitled Bound Brits, so it had to take place in the U.K.)

I subjected the story to possibly the most thorough revision I’ve ever done on any of my work. I won’t say that it’s unrecognizable, but I probably modified at least 25% of the text. In the fourteen years since the first revision I’ve learned a lot, both about romance and about writing in general. Practice does make perfect; I’ve published nearly one hundred titles since that early attempt, both romance and erotica. This second edition of Getaway Girl is orders of magnitude better than the original.

But maybe I shouldn’t use the word “perfect”, because in truth, as long as we authors are writing, we are learning all the time. I’m about to revisit my first novel, preparing an expanded twenty-fifth anniversary edition for release sometime this year. This will be the fifth version of Raw Silk. I have no doubt it will be the best.

Excerpt

A bell chimed as someone opened the door, dragging him back to the here and now. “Welcome to Shake ‘n Shop!” he called out, though he couldn’t yet make out who had entered. The counter was piled high with all sorts of crap – candy and condoms, cheap phone accessories and expensive flavored water. He rose from the plastic stool where he’d been perched and craned his neck, trying to catch a glimpse of the new customer.

His breath caught and his dick swelled when he did. As if she sensed his attention, she looked up from the display of salty, sugary snacks she’d been contemplating and gave him a saucy nod.

She was blonde and tiny, less than five feet tall he guessed, despite the heeled, knee-high purple boots that encased her shapely calves. Above her knees her thighs were bare, the pale skin gleaming in the fluorescent lights. Her skirt – if you could use that term for a garment so brief – was pink trimmed with white fur and did nothing to hide her generous ass. A matching halter top barely contained her bountiful tits and exposed her midriff. She must be freezing, but he saw no sign of goose bumps dotting the smooth expanse of her belly. In something like a trance, Alex noted a heart-shaped birth mark deep in her cleavage, and another, shaped like a diamond, on her naked right shoulder.

As for her face – well, you couldn’t see much of it, because of course she wore a mask – a mask that included an appliquéd pink nose with white whiskers bristling on either side. Meanwhile, a pair of elongated ears sprouted from her champagne-pale curls, furry-white lined with pink satin. Most bizarre of all, her eyes seemed to be a matching pink.

Weird contacts they have these days, Alex thought, trying to gain control of his bodily reactions. In that crazy, minimalist get-up she was ridiculously alluring. His cock swelled to enormous proportions in his loose jeans, steely and demanding, as if he hadn’t beaten off twice that morning.

Can I help you – miss?” he managed to stammer as she grabbed bags of corn puffs, pretzels and chips and tossed them on the counter.

Ring these up,” she responded, giving him a once-over that made him harder than ever. “Give me a pint of Johnnie Walker, too.”

I’m sorry, but I’ll need some ID…”

She pulled open the V of her top to expose her monumental jugs, giving him a clear view of the thick, pink nipples. “Do these look underage to you?” He couldn’t see her mouth behind the mask but her eyes smiled. “Just ‘cause I’m small doesn’t mean I’m young. Now get me my whisky, like a good little boy.”

Alex was so dumb-founded by her lush flesh that he didn’t even notice the insult. In a horny daze, he reached up to get the booze down from the shelf behind him. As he turned back to his bizarre customer, her phone chirped.

The girl – or woman – gave a cry of alarm as she studied the screen. “Oh, dear! By my ears and whiskers, I had no idea I was so late! She’ll have my head! Gotta go!” She stuffed the snacks in the satchel slung over her shoulder, then snatched the bottle out of Alex’s hand. “Sorry – I’m late!” she called back at him, already headed for the door.

Hey!” he called. “Wait! You can’t just waltz out without paying…” But the strange creature was already gone, leaving him with a legendary hard-on and the certain knowledge his boss would have his ass.
