However, it is also an excellent guide for laypeople and it even works if you aren't Christian. I am an agnostic and have been using the exercises in the book myself. The book contains a fair bit of scripture, but it has a common-sense approach that speaks to readers rather than at them. I have enjoyed using this book. It's a bit like having your own pocket motivational coach!
